Start with Personal Version

Step 1 After you have registered an account with Medinote and purchased a licence you think is suitable. The place you start login to use Medinote is shown below:

Step 1

Step 2 Then after you have initialised the licence, in the “Your Products” section, you will be able to click on the “Visit System” to log in your purchased Medinote Patient Record Management System, as shown below (in my demonstration screenshot below, you can see I have purchased all three versions. But don’t worry about that, just find your own purchased licence.):

Step 2

Step 3 First thing you might want to do after you have logged into Medinote is to input the clinic information under the “settings”. Please note, the “Custom Session Items” is what type of treatment you will provide to patients, which once set, you will be able to set provider number, rebate item number (for Hicaps), etc. accordingly. Below is an example:

Step 3

Step 4 Then you need to fill in the information under “Profile”. There are many important information here. Your name, mobile, address (where you see patients), ABN, Association Name and membership number, and your provider numbers will appear in the tax invoices that Medinote generates for your patients. Once you click “Edit” button, you will be able to fill in the information. In the “Health Fund Membership Number” section, you can select which type of treatment you will be able to provide a rebate for your client, and then you can set provider numbers of these treatment types according to different health funds. The “default provider number” is the number Medinote puts in the invoice when there is no set provider number for the patient’s health fund company. If you want, you can upload your signature which will appear in the invoices.

Step 4

Step 5 After the above steps are completed, you are ready to start creating sessions (a patient’s visit). But in each session, obviously you will need to have a “client” which will be the patients coming for that “session” or “visit”, or “treatment” or “consultation”, whatever you think it should be called. Now you have 2 options. First one is to go to “create session” section, and then click on the “select” button under “client” field. Then Medinote will let you select a client/patient whose name has been in the system, or to create a new client/patient, if it is the first visit of that client/patient. You only want to choose the second option when it is the client/patient’s first visit: go to the “Clients” section to create the client/patient before going to the “create session” section to select the client/patient. Below shows the button to select a client and the “create session” section:

Step 5

Step 6 Then, you are on the way to input whatever information is required by health funds or associations or AHPRA or simply by yourself for the treatment records. We will let you have a play around, which we believe will be a lot of fun. One thing to remember, though, the “Treatment Dictionary”, as shown below, is only to give you some ideas, to check what potential treatment might be helpful for a certain disorder or symptom. The information in the “Treatment Dictionary” is not scientifically proved or 100% reliable, and it will NOT be recorded in your patient records.
